counting down... for many many things

there are so many things i am counting down to, some that i'm SO excited for and just can't wait some i am SO ready for them to just be over that i'm counting down.

1. counting down til monday, february 28, the day we find out the gender of the baby! obviously this is one of those things i'm just so excited about and am tired of waiting to find out! so yay for that one.

2. counting down to the bands trip to ireland. this one is mixed for me. i am really excited to be going to ireland. i have never been overseas and know it's going to be beautiful and amaing. but i am also ready to get this trip over with because it has been a lot of preparation (that has not been fun nor would i say going very well) and it's a huge stress off mine and the parents (mainly the parents) back who have been working on this for what seems, forever.

3. counting down to the end of the school year. this may seem a little premature but this has been such a hard year. commuting/ living apart is wearing me out. having com into this job in the middle of the year is wearing me out. the seniors are wearing me out (and the biggest problem, i don't blame them, i was the exact same way when i was a senior- over it!) i am ready to know where we will be living next year and hopefully have a new living situation. i am ready to relax (ha!) for a few weeks before the baby is born. all of those things.

4. counting down to spring break. again, maybe a little premature, since it is still more than 2 months away, but it's my next day off, thanks to the snow. so i'm just a little ready for spring break.

for now that's all i can really think of. but goodness, that's enough! did i mention that i got a flu shot yesterday and really don't feel well at all and have after school rehearsal until 5 for ireland which i am totally dreading. this could be a large reason why i am currently in whine mode.

i hate goodbyes

really, i do.

i cry almost everytime i leave someone or somewhere for a long time.

it has only been made worse by me living in charlotte all week and matt living in columbia all week. i only see him thursday night-sunday night and i hate it. when i leave on sunday night, i cry.

some people have said it has probably been made worse by the hormones of pregnancy which may or may not be true. when we were dating (long distance, the entire time) i would cry every time i left him or he left me. i would cry a few times a week at night from missing him. i just cried a lot then. and i definitely wasn't pregnant then.

the truth is i know this is temporary, or i wouldn't keep doing it. matt graduates the beginning of may and then he can move up here to be with me (and hopefully to find a job!). i just have to endure 12 more weeks. then, hopefully, we will finally say goodbye to having a long distance relationship once and for all!

i am heated... over sports.

okay, seriously, matt and i have not fought about anything about this baby,

until today.

south carolina is playing kentucky right now in basketball. for some reason, matt actually thinks this baby is going to cheer for kentucky. why in the world would it be a kentucky fan? here are my points why this is dumb for anyone to think it will be anything but a usc fan, and yes, i just called you dumb if you disagree with me:
1. it will likely be born in either south or north carolina and regardless of that, it will likely live and grow up in south carolina. i doubt it will ever live in kentucky.
2. BOTH of it's parents, it's mother AND IT'S FATHER, will have degrees from south carolina. i don't care how cheesy it might sound but when you graduate from a university, those are your colors. period. you represent that university and that university represents you.
3. NEITHER of it's parents have ever attended uk. nor any of it's grandparents or aunts or uncles. only extended family, and very few of them. in addition to it's parents going to usc, it's aunt did too. 3>0
4. i will be the one to dress the child every day and if anyone thinks i'm going to put a uk something on it over a usc thing on it, you seriously don't know me. i would put on a florida piece of clothing on this baby before i would put on uk (since it's grandfather went to florida)
5. because i said so. and i will be it's mother.

end of rant. don't start with me when it comes to matt being a uk fan. seriously a MAJOR point of contention in our home.

crazy puppies!!!!

this is what matt came home to last night. here is the story.

we now leave the puppies out when we leave. we used to put them in a play pin but they chewed a hole in the playpin that is tiny, but big enough for them to get out of. we were putting them in it and would come home to find them greeting us at the door. the first time we happened we blamed it on katie, she had gone to our house to check on the pups and we assumed she just didn't put them back. then it happened again the next day while we were at church, so needless to say, there is no point in pinning them up anymore.

matt left the puppies out all day yesterday when he was at school. he came home and they greeted him and were there usual selves, no big deal. then, after a few hours home with them, he had to go back out to go to young mens at church. he was gone for about an hour and a half.

and he came home to picture above.

matt bought some paper towels a few days ago, a big pack of them, and left them sitting on the kitchen floor. the puppies chewed through the plastic and got out one of the roles. and then proceeded to chew it up (as you can see for yourself). matt said that this is just a snapshot, the entire kitchen looked like that. he said there were parts where is literally looked like the paper towel had been through a shredder it was torn into such tiny pieces.

it's a good thing they are so cute!! no, they really are usually good dogs, and the funny thing is, those paper towels have been there for days and they haven't cared! but give them less than 2 hours alone, and that's what happens!

the little thing thats causing big news in our life

well, in case you haven't heard,

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!

matt and i went to the doctor yesterday to find out, officially, that we will be adding a little baby to our family this summer.

today i am 12 weeks and 3 days

the baby is due on july 30 (which is my aunt joyce's birthday!)

matt and my dad SWEAR it's a boy, we will let you all know if they are right in 6 weeks.

we are super excited. a little surprised, but super super excited!! as soon as i can get home and scan the pictures in, i will (which won't be before this weekend, since i now stay in charlotte!). it was really cool to see the baby. it definitely made it real. although currently, the baby does look like an alien (as matt told the doctor) we are still super excited and certain it will be too cute (duh, it's mine and matt's child).

when they did the ultrasound it was really crazy because as soon as they were there BAM you could see the baby! and it did not like someone invading its space, it ran away as soon as we saw it. but they found it again and we got to see its fingers and face and it moved a lot. it's already hyper like the puppies!!!

i can't wait to see it again! i can't wait for july 30 to be here, for many reasons, but espcially the baby!!!

waking up in charlotte now

beginning last friday, my grandparents have moved to charlotte less than 30 mins. away from my school which means, i no longer have to get up at 5 to be at work!

i plan to stay here in charlotte sunday through thursday nights so that i can wake up around 6:15 and leave around 7. it's WONDERFUL. this is my first day being able to stay here and i already know it's going to be a huge and amazing blessing in my life.

so why have grammye and poppie moved here to charlotte? well because my parents have moved to new york, just barely north of new york city, and since my grandparents were living with my parents and didn't want to move to new york, they moved here to be closer to us and other family and so i can have a place to stay. plus if matt can get a job up here, this is definitley where we will settle which means it's definitely where my parents will settle which means in the end, my grandparents will end up back with my parents.

family is wonderful and mine is the best. i am so happy to be up here. matt is going to come on thursday nights and go to work with me every friday (he isn't today because he's helping with the move). he might also stay up here on monday nights (and bring the pups of course).

i just have to make it to may. then, assuming matt has a job or any hope of one, we can move, wherever that move may be. hopefully up here to charlotte but if not, to wherever else the Lord will have us, and we won't complain!
